Nellie Mae Tucker

Nellie Mae Tucker, 97, passed away peacefully on January 16 at her home in Tallahassee, Florida. She was the beloved wife of Daniel Leon Tucker, whom she married on May 24, 1944.

The Tuckers lived in Troy, Illinois for most of their lives after raising their three children in Granite City: Danny Tucker (Gail Vogeler), Karen Agee (James Agee), and Michael Tucker. Nell’s legacy as “Grandma” was established with 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews all over the country.

Nell enjoyed gardening, crocheting and playing games, especially bingo. She is remembered through simple joys: pretty pink flowers, and homemade chicken-and-dumplings shared with family and friends.

Nell was born to Zebb and Willie (Apple) Watts on December 14, 1921, in Dover, Tennessee. She will be put to rest in Moore Cemetery in Bear Spring, Tennessee.
