Times-Tribune Broadens Its Coverage
The Times-Tribune, as some of you may have noticed, has begun enlarging its coverage area these past few months. The addition of full-time staff reporter Emily Klein this week represents another step in that direction, with the city of Collinsville being part of her beat, and Madison County in general being the other part. We are committed to community journalist and will continue to cover Troy, Maryville, St. Jacob, Marine, and Glen Carbon as we always have, but we are also a businesses and over time we have acquired more and more readers within the greater Madison County area, with Collinsville addresses representing our second biggest mail drop next to Troy. This past fall we also began covering Madison County Board meetings, with the help of freelance journalist Elizabeth Donald.
Serving the needs of area advertisers and businesses also is a major goal, with their success pretty much translating into our success. If you’ve never advertised with us before, or are just interested in upcoming advertising opportunities in general, please give us a call or send an email to sales@thetroytimestribune.com. We have recently added advertising staff as well, with Charlie Huelsmann as ad manager. The internet and digital communication may be the wave of the future, but in my opinion a printed newspaper ad or insert — something with substance that you can hold in your hands, clip, and save — can still reap many times the return. We invite you to consider us for your legal advertising needs as well.
As always, we value your input and feedback and would love to hear from you about what type of coverage your would like to see in the Times-Tribune. As with any business, balancing resources and operating efficiently matter a great deal, but either way our goal is to provide area readers and advertisers with a quality community newspaper that delivers timely and relevant news.
On another issue, it’s hard to believe how close to the end of the school year we are already, but here we are just one month away from the big day. FYI: Graduation day at Triad High School is May 19, with May 23 the official end of the 2nd Semester and last day of school. The last day of student attendance at Collinsville High School is set for May 17 (if no emergency days are used), with graduation set for May 18.
