Erwin Schmerbauch
Erwin B. Schmerbauch, 84, of Collinsville, born October 24, 1934 in Fayetteville, and he passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 11, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
Erwin attended St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy. He enjoyed watching Cardinal Baseball, wrestling, and Nascar. Erwin was always ready for a good game of Euchre or going fishing. He loved his family and always enjoyed the times they spent together.
He was preceded in death by his wife Connie J. (nee Burge) Schmerbauch; parents, Charles H. and Julia B. (nee Sutton) Schmerbauch; sisters, Ella Prendiville, Blanch Nix and Pauline Lewis; brothers, Roy, Charles, Arthur, Marcus, George, Daniel and Joseph Schmerbauch.
Surviving are his children, James “Scott” Schmerbauch of Troy, Mark “Todd” Schmerbauch and Chad Schmerbauch both of Collinsville, Becky Robertson of Belleville, and Cherie (Dan) Klaus of Troy; grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Colligan, Crystal (Chris) Yearian, Amber (Dan) Nasekos, Leslie Klaus, Dustin, Ashley and Cydney Robertson, Katie and Brianna Schmerbauch, Robbie (Colleen) Robertson, Luke Schmerbauch and Alex (Jarrett) Leatherwood; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, John “Jack” and Robert Schmerbauch both of Troy; sisters, Viola Schmieg of Granite City, and Dorothy Schmerbauch of St. Louis; brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, with Fr. Kevin Laughery officiating. Intermanet will be in St. Jerome Cemetery, Troy.
