John Barnett

John “Jack” Barnett, 81, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Banner Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West, Arizona.

He was born on September 22, 1937 to Joe and Clara Barnett.

Jack lived in Troy for many years and always liked going to the McCray-Dewey class reunions back here. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Surviving is his son, Steven of Missouri; his sister, Pat Viomontes of Missouri; stepchildren Diane (Randy) Rayburn of Surprise and Robert (Debbie) Taylor of Phoenix, Arizona; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren of Arizona; brother-in-law Gary Butcher of Prescott, Arizona; sister-in-law Delores Kostyshock of Troy; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, who died on November 30, 2018; and stepson Thomas Taylor. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 19 at Sun West Funeral Home in El Mirage, Arizona.

Burial was at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix.

Sun West Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
