William F. Body
William F. Body, 84, a former Troy resident, died suddenly on June 28, 2019 in Surprise Arizona. He was born July 28, 1934 in Collinsville, the son of Frank and Amelia (Galbiatti) Body.
He served in the US Navy, retiring after 20 years, Senior Chief Petty Officer, Seabee steel worker & Vietnam Veteran. After retiring from the service he was a school maintenance worker in Oxnard California before returning to the area to work for Triad School District as a maintenance worker for many more years. He was also a member of the Collinsville VFW. He spent the last 18 years living the retired life with his wife Roberta in Surprise, Arizona.
Surviving are his wife, Roberta (Piper) Body of Surprise Arizona; children, Richard Body of Harrisburg, Steven (Betty) Body of Park Hills, Missouri, Tiffany (Tyler) Houberg of Collinsville, & Bryan (Tara) McKinney of Marine; Grandchildren, Julianna Body, Faith & Megan Houberg, Aubrey, Addyson, & Bryson McKinney; great grandchild; Grayson Body; siblings, Helen Smith of Opp, Alabama, Jack Body of Collinsville, & Dan Body of Taylorville, Illinois
He was preceded in death by his first wife; Julianna (Hefferly) Body; oldest son, Bruce Body
Family & friends will gather to celebrate his life, have a beer, & tell stories (two things he greatly enjoyed) August 24, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Collinsville VFW.
