Dorothy M. Dearworth, 85, of Troy, born Sunday, September 2, 1934 in Prairie Du Rocher, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019.
Dorothy was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy. She enjoyed shopping, cooking for her family, entertaining her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Surviving are her children, Jackie (Randy) Rosamond of Loganville, Georgia, Jan (Don) Kezely of Red Bud, Steven Dearworth of Anna and Bill (Kay) Dearworth of Troy; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce (Roy) Wirth of Prairie Du Rocher; brothers-in-law, Phil McHenry of Denver, Colorado, Bob (Jane) Dearworth of Sherwood, Arizona; sister-in-law Judy (Ollie) Liefer of Carterville; family friend Fred Bloss of Marine; and her beloved cat, Spook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Dearworth; and by her parents, Charles and Velma (nee Mudd) Shea.
Funeral services were held on Monday, September 9 at Richeson Funeral Home in Troy, with Fr. Kevin Laughrey officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Prairie Du Rocher.
