Bob T. Widel

Bob T. Widel, 66, of Troy, born Friday, July 17, 1953 in St. Louis, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019 at his home in Troy.

Bob was a true believer and Christian in faith. He graduated from Freeburg High School and enjoyed watching old movies, and old movie trivia. Bob had a routine that he walked most every day. He went to Casey’s every morning because they opened their doors at 4 a.m. and he was a morning person. He frequented the laundrymat, then the bank, to get a cup of coffee at 9 a.m. His next venture was to the VFW where he sat and enjoyed a soft drink and when the ladies made food, they always gave him some. He truly appreciated that. Thank you to his good friend Tex who would give him rides and let him hang with him. Then he would spend time at the second hand store in Troy with his friend and some of her family. And he was home early afternoon to get ready to sleep and start over the next day. He enjoyed all his friends and acquaintances and especially his dog Fred.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Maurcette (nee Trimble) Widel; and his brother, Ted Widel.

Surviving are his sisters, Debbie (Doren) Rakers of Troy, Nancy (Charles) Rogers of Smithton, and Sharon (Kevin) Hultberg of De Soto, Missouri; a brother Jon (Jackie) Widel of Swansea; and sister-in-law, Marie Widel; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call 9 to 11:30 am Saturday, October 19, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m Saturday, October 19, at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, with Doren Rakers officiating.
