Bob Gibson

Robert “Bob” James Gibson, age 78 of Troy, IL, born September 5, 1941 in Rockford, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at his residence.

Bob was a member of Teamster Local 28 and retired from Cassens Transport in Edwardsville, after 25+ years of service.  He loved to go to the truck stop in Troy for coffee with his buddies, and spend time with his family and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Imogene (nee Riggins) Pyles.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy (nee Goodwin) Gibson, whom he married October 14, 1983; two daughters:  Terrie (Jerry Morales) Gibson of O’Fallon, Missouri and Lisa (Rocky Sarchette) Totty of Maryville; four grandchildren: Libby, Chris, Cayla and Devin; and two brothers-in-law:  Rick (Michelle) Barnett of Bethalto, and Deano Barnett of Troy.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. following the visitation with Rev. Ron Habermehl officiating. 

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.
