Alan F. Jarvis

Alan Francis Jarvis, 64 of Collinsville, formerly of Troy, passed away, January 3, 2020 at Anderson Hospital.

He was born November 19, 1955 at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was the son of Jane Francis Jarvis and Ernest A. Jarvis. He was a graduate of Triad High school, 1973, a member of Bethel Bapist Church.

He married twice, but has no children.

Alan was an eagle scout in Troop 38 in Troy and  learned to love Indian lore. He danced with he Ka·Hawk Indian Dancers and was a member of “Mike’s Group.” He traveled the country singing at Indian Pow-Wows and learned much about Indian songs and customs. He worked at several factories and warehouses and retired 2 years ago.

Alan was a life-long Troy-boy until moving to Collinsville recently. His love was the Cardinals and listened to every game. His family was also very important to him.

He is survived by brothers, John Marshall Jarvis of Collinsville, Paul Gordon Jarvis  and wife Susan A. (nee Phelps)  of Troy; sister, Nancy Ellen Jarvis of Bradonton Beach, Florida; half-sister, Jeanne (nee Jarvis) DeSantis and husband Tito DeSantis of New York; nieces, Laura (nee Schlemmer) Jarvis of Troy, Amanda (nee Jarvis) Crews, Abbie Lynn Jarvis both of Troy, Natalie (nee Rowe) Shaffer of Bradonton Beach, Florida; nephews, John Richard Jarvis of Troy, Adam Franklin Jarvis of Baltimore, Maryland; Nathen Rowe and Amie (nee Robinson) Rowe of Bradonton Beach, Florida; great nieces, Sierra Schlemmer, Makenna Schlemmer, Carli Crews, Paighton Hall, Elly Rowe; great nephews, Kayden Crews, Kollin Crews, Gaige Bailey, Blake Rowe, Bradon Rowe, Eli Rowe.

He was preceded in death by mother, Jane Francis (nee Voelker) Fisher; father Ernest Adelard Jarvis, both of Troy; stepfather, Charles E. Fisher of Troy; grandmother, Vera A (nee Dillingham-Voelker) Price of Troy; grandfather, Frank Adam Voelker of Troy; nephews, Nick Smith and Bryce Crews; half-brother, Bob Jarvis of New York.

A celebration of life is planned at a future date.
