Magdelene L. Roustio
Magdelene L. Roustio, 95, of Glen Carbon, IL, born October 18, 1924 in East St. Louis and passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville.
Magdelene worked for Hunter Meat Packing Co. and St. Louis Box Company. She enjoyed cooking, cooking shows and word search games. She loved her family and enjoyed every moment she spent with them.
Surviving are her children, Donna Grotefendt of Collinsville, Carolyn (Michael) Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee, Sheila Lesicko of Glen Carbon, Stephen (Virginia) Roustio of Lubbock, Texas and Richard (Brenda) Roustio of Troy; grandchildren, Kevin Grotefendt, Kim (Bryan) Reising, Keith (Maggie) Grotefendt, Michelle (Brian) Calvert, Sheri (Michael) Gaynor, Talana (Josh) Robinson, and Ben (Samantha) Roustio; great-grandchildren, Samantha (Cody) Jackson, Victoria (Chris) Nunn, Mitchell Reising, Jacob and Chris Grotefendt, Chase Calvert, Michaela Gaynor, Zeke Robinson, Magdelena, Phoebe and Granger Roustio; great-great-son, Sloane Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen G. Roustio whom she married August 13, 1943 and he passed away February 5, 1989; her son, Terry and his wife Lilly Roustio, son-in-laws, James Lesicko and Delray Grotefendt; parents, Gebhart and Ophelia (nee Schneider) Meien; brothers, Edward, Lester, Martin and Harold Meinen; and her sisters, Margaret Goodrich and Emma Schilling.
Visitation was on Friday, January 10, and Saturday, January 11 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 11 at Richeson Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment was at Friedens Cemetery, Troy.
