Betty Ruth Gregory, age 89, of Troy, born January 17, 1931 in Marmaduke, Arkansas, passed away on February 13, 2020 at Faith Countryside Homes in Highland.

Betty was a retired beautician and also worked as a personal housekeeper for the Roberts Family in Ladue, Missouri. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, CMT YMCA, Silver Slippers, Red Hat Society, the Homeless Ministry of Troy, and the Women’s Prison Ministry at Bethel Baptist Church. She loved to travel, and she was a very hard worker, very kind and giving.

She is survived by five children: Johnny Phillips of Troy, Debbie (Claude) Crisler of Troy, Cindy (Chuck) Maedge of Troy, Michael (Donna) Phillips of Marine, and Yvonne (Monte) Isgrig of Farmington, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a brother, Dan (Laura) Cooper of Troy; and 2 sisters: Mary Virginia Pinion of Paragould Arkansas, and Mary Alice Douglas of St. Augustine Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Liddell and Anna Jewell (nee Brewer) Cooper; two brothers: Lance Corporal Avery Lee Cooper, and Johnny Lewis Cooper; and a sister, Quinna Mae Cooper.

Visitation was held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, followed by the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Tim Lewis.

Memorials may be made to HSHS Hospice, the Leukemia Society, or Bethel

Baptist Prison Ministries, and will be accepted at the Funeral Home.
