Times-Tribune Takes Home Two IPA Awards

 

On Tuesday, March 31, The Illinois Press Association announced this year’s contest winners. The Times-Tribune is proud to announce two award winners. The paper earned second place honors in the category of Public Notice Journalism. The piece referenced homeowners concerns of rezoning and was written by Times-Tribune staff reporter Charlie Feldman.

“Charlie is a hard-working detail-oriented writer that is more than deserving of this award,” Times-Tribune Editor Kyle Cunningham said.

Also placing in the contest was the “Focus on Collinsville” section that garnered fourth place in the Special Section category.

“This particular section was put together with an exemplary effort from the entire staff, I couldn’t be more proud of their dedication and resourcefulness,” Cunningham said.

Due to COVID-19 the IPA Convention was postponed for May 7-8 and is rescheduled for October 22-23 at t President Abraham Lincoln DoubleTree Hotel in Springfield. Feldman and staff will receive their awards during the IPA Luncheon on Oct 23.
