Former Collinsville Trustee Passed Away

Longtime Collinsville Township Board Trustee Kathleen Shimkus passed away at the age of 90. Shimkus served as trustee from 1993-2013 and was instrumental in the construction of the Collinsville Township Senior Center.

Shimkus joined the Township Board after her son John was trustee from 1989-1993 before being elected Madison County Treasurer.

Terry “Bones” Allan, former Township Supervisor for over 43 years, had the following to say about working with Shimkus for 20 years. “She was excellent at what she did. She was respected by both the Township and all of Madison County”.
