Mary Chasteen

Mary E. Chasteen, 87, of Troy, IL born Friday, December 2, 1932 in St. Louis, MO and passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Cedarhurst of Edwardsville.

Mary was a faithful member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Troy, IL.  She retired as the City Clerk for the City of Troy, IL.  Mary was a member of Red Hats, Troy Women’s Club, Friedens Ladies Guild, IMRF and IMCA.  She started the program Troy Welcomes You many years ago.  She loved her family more than life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy B. “Ike” Chasteen whom she married February 14, 1953 and he passed away July 17, 1996; son-in-law, Robert L. Fulkerson; parents, Oliver and Agnes (nee Preloger) Keilbach; brother, Oliver P. Keilbach.

Surviving are her children, Donna Fulkerson of St. Jacob, Steven (Sue) Chasteen of Highland and Bryan (Hilary) Chateen of Highland; grandchildren, Cheri (Andy) Prusa, Bobbie (Heather) Fulkerson III, Kristyn (Mike) Cantu, Kaylee Chasteen, Collin Chasteen, Paige Kannall, Jackson Kannall and Logan Kannall; great-grandchildren, Jayda, Baylee, Layla and Brayden Fulkerson, Peyton, Paige and Lacey Cantu; her sister-in-law, Jan Keilbach and a host of other relatives and friends.
