Swip Takes Over Kahok Baseball

By Mark Jurgena
This afternoon (June 25th) Brett Swip was named the new head baseball coach at Collinsville High School at a meeting of the Collinsville Board of Education. Swip has served as the head softball coach at Collinsville for the past four seasons.
The Collinsville native has been in coaching for the past 22 seasons and has built a solid reputation for developing student-athletes while building a winning culture.
“From day one as Head Coach of Kahok Softball, our goal was to build sustained success. And to do that, we believed culture had to be the driving force within the program. We made it a priority to build a culture that placed value on the person, the student, and the athlete. We will immediately build that culture within Kahok Baseball,” Swip said via a press release.
CHS Athletic Director Clay Smith believes Swip is the right man for the job.
“I am excited about the future of Kahok Baseball,” Smith began in that same press release. “Brett brings a great vision and plan for Kahok Baseball. The culture and positive experiences that Brett and his coaches have provided to our softball program are real success stories here at CHS. We are excited about what Brett will do for Kahok Baseball in to the future.”
