Village Resumes Some Activities As Phase 4 Begins
The Village of Glen Carbon has moved into Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan.
It has announced that the following village facilities will re-open and that these activities will resume:
• Village Hall. Will re-open on Monday, June 29 at 8 a.m. Social distancing measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of employees and visitors.
• Village Parks. Tennis courts, ball diamonds, walking and biking paths and the Miner Park Bark Park are open. Playgrounds, basketball courts, pavilions and restroom facilities remain closed.
• Village Committees. The following committees will resume meeting in the month of July , be limited to 50 or less in attendance and will meet in the Village Hall Council Chambers to allow for proper social distancing: the Business Advisory Board, Community Events Committee, Cool Cities Committee, G.L.E.N. Committee, Historical and Museum Commission, Police Commission, Police Pension Board and Resident Advisory Board.
• Utility Accounts. All credit and debit card transaction fees will be re-instated as of June 29.Gatherings at these facilities will be limited to 50 or less. Voluntary compliance with wearing face- coverings, social distancing and the measures delineated by the State of Illinois and the Illinois Department of Health are expected from all patrons. Exceptions may be made for individuals with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering. The Village reserves the right to shut down said facilities at any time.
