Dorothy Suter

Dorothy L. Suter, 99, of Troy, born September 25, 1921 in Troy and passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Highland Health Care, Highland.

Dorothy was a long time member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Troy, where she was a member of the ladies Guild.  She supported the Troy Fired Department for many years where her Husband, son and grandson have been very active.  She worked in Dr. Edward Engleman’s office, Troy, IL, for many years.  Dorothy was very involved in her son Lee’s schooling at ISD, Illinois School for the Deaf, Jacksonville, IL and was a member and volunteer at the Troy Senior citizens.  She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gustiv E. “Gus” Suter; son Lee Alan Suter; parents, Louis H. and Lourine J. (nee Silva) Keck; and her sister, Ethel Loehring.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Tobey A. (Julia) Suter and Corey Suter both of Troy, IL, great-grandchildren, Tobey Jr., Wyatt Gustiv, Lillian Rose, Lane Edward, Dylan Francis and Cole Alexander Suter; and her daughter-in-law, Terri Suter of Troy, IL.

COVID-19 restrictions will be followed, masks required, and social distancing.  Please be respectful of time and do not linger so others may pay their respects to the family.

Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. Tarrah Vauoel officiating.  Interment in Friedens Cemetery, Troy.

Richeson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
