Ministries unlimited is getting ready for the Christmas drive. This year there will be some changes to the program.
As Betty Cothran stated in her letter to the community “Once again, it is time to prepare for our annual Christmas drive. As we look forward to Christmas 2020, we anticipate another outpouring of grateful hearts for past blessings. While we have continually seen growth expressed in the amount of giving over the past years, we have also seen a greater need in our community.”
Ministries is still looking for canned goods and monetary collections for the hams and turkeys, but there will be NO collection of Toys and gifts this year. Instead families will receive gift cards with their Christmas basket.
Another change is that their will be NO deliveries made, but distribution will be at Bethel Baptist on December 19 as a drive thru only. Volunteers will not be needed due to the new format. Only regular pantry volunteers will be used.
Names of families may be submitted to any of the pastors of local churches through Triad Schools, or Ministries unlimited in sealed envelopes and will be kept confidential. Names must be submitted no later than November 20.
“We have had many changes this year during this economic and health crisis. For a person or community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people’s love and concern for each other. No matter how small or how large your involvement is, you are important toward that success.” Cothran says.
“As we share hope and love to others, may the timeless message of Christmas fill your heart with special joy and love. Any assistance you can provide will be sincerely appreciated.” Cothran ends the message with.
