Edward “Ed” Miller

Edward L. “Ed” Miller, age 60 of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at his residence in Highland.

He was born on Wednesday, February 10, 1960, in East Saint Louis, the son of  Clarence and Frankie (nee Barron) Miller.

On Sunday, May 11, 1986, he married Gail A. Miller nee May  at St. Jacob United Church of Christ, who survives.

He was a member of St. Jacob Volunteer Fire Department and a Mason from a Belleville Lodge

He was born in East St. Louis,then moved to Hollywood Height, and later to Troy, and graduated from Triad High School.  He has lived most of  his life in St. Jacob/Highland  He went to a tech school sponsored by Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, in Wisconsin.  He was a Harley-Davidson technician for Doc’s Harley-Davidson of St. Louis, Ted’s Harley-Davidson of Alton, and Frieze Harley-Davidson of Belleville.  He retired as a service manager.  He also worked for the Alton & Southern Rail Road.  He was very active with the St. Jacob Volunteer Fire Department for many years (former chief and active Trustee).  Ed enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, antique cars and his pet bulldogs.

Survivors include: Wife – Gail A. Miller, nee May, Highland;  Father – Clarence E. (Jackie) Miller, Highland;  Daughter – Brea R. (Jeffrey) Rosson, Red Bud; Grandchildren – Dylan M. Apken,  Lacey L. (Alex) Schulte, Levi C. Egbert, Scott T. (Courtney) Egbert, Raeleigh A. Rosson, Rayna M. Rosson: Sisters – Carol Miller, Saint Jacob,  Patricia (Doug) Schutjer, Doe Run, Missouri; Step Brothers – Jeff (Brenda) Jondro, Chris (Jenny) Jondro; Brothers-In-Law – Steven (Pat) May, Saint Jacob, Rick (Andee) May, Troy.

He was preceded in death by:

Mother – Frankie Lorena Miller, nee Barron; Daughter – NicCole M. “Nicci” Egbert.

Graveside Service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 02, 2020, at Keystone Cemetery in Saint Jacob, IL, with Rev. Gary Kniepkamp, Retired Pastor, St. Jacob, IL,  officiating.

Interment will be at Keystone Cemetery in Saint Jacob, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jacob Volunteer Fire Department.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland.
