Three Teens Apprehended In Latest Collinsville Shooting
On Sunday 11/29/2020, at about 2:00 pm, officers of the Collinsville Police Department responded to the parking lot of Dollar General Store 108 St. Louis Road, Collinsville, in reference to a reported gunshot victim. Upon arriving, officers made contact with the victim who was found to have suffered a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. The suspects in the shooting fled the scene. Responding officers made an areawide broadcast containing information on the suspect’s vehicle. That vehicle was later pursued by the Illinois State Police and St. Louis City Police. The suspect vehicle crashed during the pursuit and was found to be occupied by a 14-year-old male, a 15-year-old male, and a 19-year-old male. They were taken into custody by St. Louis City Police. Names of those individuals are not being released. This investigation is still in the preliminary phase, but it has been determined that the individuals involved in this incident are known to each other and this was not a random act. No other persons were injured as a result of the actions of the involved parties. The victim was treated on the scene by EMS personnel of the Collinsville Fire Department and transported to a St. Louis hospital for treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery.
