Donald Voigt

Donald G. Voigt, age 82 of Alhambra, died Sunday, November 29, 2020, at Saint Luke’s  Hospital in Chesterfield, MO.

He was born on Saturday, September 17, 1938, in Highland, the son of  Kenneth and Dorothy (nee Gilomen) Voigt.

On Saturday, July 09, 1960, he married Melba F. Voigt nee Bardelmeier  at the E & R Church-Marine, who survives.

He was a member of United Church of Christ of Marine, Marine.

Born at Highland,; raised on the family farm Alhambra.  He attended Renken Technical College for one year to become a machinist.  He worked for Midwest Parts & Equipment, St. Louis,  as a machinist and retired as a manager after 25 years.  He and his brother farmer for many years.  In 1986 he became a co-owner, with his son, of Troy Towing & Storage, Marine.  He drove a tow truck for their company for many years.  He and his wife for 20 years would travel to the Florida Keys and stay for three months.  He enjoyed going to the races and the casinos; being at the shop helping with odd jobs and eating ice cream.

Survivors include:

Wife – Melba F. Voigt (nee Bardelmeier), Alhambra.

Son – Mark A. (Fiancee-Kristi Osborn) Voigt, Marine.

Daughter – Cheryl A. (Timothy) Reynolds, Alhambra.

Grandchildren – Zachary A. Reynolds, Jerry M. (Johanna) Becker, Stephanie L. (Shannon) Kuhn, Nicole M. Voigt, Tiffany (Michael) Luis, Danny Osborn and Christian Osborn

Great Grandchildren – Leta Debardeleben, Cole Winkler, Hannah Becker,

Talen Beard, Derrain Becker and Lexi Iberg

Sister In-Law – Margy L. Voigt, Alhambra.

He was preceded in death by:

Father – Kenneth R. Voigt – Died November 19, 2006

Mother – Dorothy R. Voigt (nee Gilomen) – Died November 27, 1996

Daughter In-Law – Nadine R. “Deane” Voigt – Died January 30, 2012

Brother – Darwin K. Voigt – Died June 25, 1997.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland.

Private Visitation and Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 04, 2020, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, with Rev. Philip H. Kershner, Pastor, of the United Church of Christ of Marine, Marine, officiating.

Interment will be at Marine Cemetery in Marine.

Memorial contributions may be made to Marine Fire Department or BJC Hospice.
