Donald Hinnen

Donald J. Hinnen, son of Lena Antonacci and George Hinnen, died in Wheatridge, Colorado, on November 12, 2020 from pneumonia. Born November 17, 1930, he lived in Glen Carbon, Illinois until he joined the Air Force in 1948. Serving for four years, he left the military, married Gay McFarland of Troy, Illinois, attended college, had five children, and graduated with a Masters Degree in Hospital Administration. He moved with his family to Denver where he worked at Mercy Hospital, the Colorado Hospital Association, the Arizona Hospital Administration and finally with the American Hospital Association. He finished his career with Voluntary Hospitals of America and eventually retired to Sun City West, AZ in 1989 where he volunteered for Habit for Humanity and AARP Tax Aid. Don led an active life which included skiing, golfing, international travel and innumerable home projects. He is survived by his wife, Gay, his five children, Britt, Gregg, Todd, Reed, and Beth, and six grandchildren. He will be remembered with love as a good man, good husband, and good father.
