Mary Francis Daily

Mary Francis Daily, age 85, of LaRue, passed away at her home on Friday, January 01, 2021.

Mary was born December 5, 1935 in Collinsville, the daughter of Harold Arthur and Jennie Gibson (Pigford) Bohnenstiehl. She graduated from Collinsville High School and the class of 1953. She continued her education at Springfield Memorial Hospital, graduating in 1956 as a Registered Nurse. She worked as an RN for Med Center Hospital.

Mary was set up on a blind date with a young man named Frankie and it was love at first sight. On August 6, 1955 she was united in marriage to Frankie Lee Daily and they celebrated 55 years of marriage; he preceded her in death on May 13, 2010.

In her younger years, Mary enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She had a passion for collecting cookie jars and amassed quite a collection. She and Frankie loved to travel and meet new people. She especially loved to listen to her husband reminisce about his upbringing in southern Indiana. Family was everything to Mary and she leaves a lasting legacy of love.

Surviving are her children: Theresa Tarvin of West Union, Loretta Ann (David) Kroupa of The Villages, FL, Victoria Lee (John) Johnson of Green Camp, Richard Lee (Barbara Jean) Daily of LaRue, and John Harold (Teresa)Daily of LaRue; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; and siblings: Patricia (Charles) Maedge, Carol (Donnie) Freeman, and Caroline (Tom) Littlefield.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frankie Lee Daily, son, Michael Irwin Daily and her sister, Norma Jean Steinwagner.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel, 360 East Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Funeral service will be Thursday at the funeral home at 11AM with Pastor Bill Wasserbeck officiating; burial will be in LaRue Cemetery.
