3rd Circuit Court Upholds Collinsville Township Election Hearing Decisions

On January 27, the Third Circuit Court Judge Christopher Threlkeld upheld two rulings by the Collinsville Township Election Committee on January 14.

The first appeal was brought by Mark Achenbach asking that the election committee’s ruling that Ashley C. Stewart remain on the ballot be overturned. Achenbach had fled an objection to Stewart’s nomination papers due to inconsistencies in the way the petitions and nomination papers had been filled out.

The second hearing was brought forth by Lee Gildersleeve to overturn the decision by  the election committee to have him removed from the ballot for having too many signatures on his petitions.
