Linda Dean
Linda L. Dean, 78, of Troy passed away at 3:31 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born August 25, 1942, a daughter of the late Arnold and Michel (Simpson) Sconce. She married Robert A. Dean on June 9, 1962 in Granite City and he passed away on March 2, 2005.
She retired from the Triad School District after many years of dedicated service as a school cook. She was a faithful and active member of the Troy United Methodist Church. Linda loved her days of cooking and tending to her yard and was always showing her gracious hospitality in taking care of others. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beth Ann and Robert Luttrell of Troy; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Dean of Staunton; four grandchildren, Nicholas Luttrell, Joshua Dean, Tiffany Hazelip and Stephanie Paulovich; three great grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Harold Sparks of Kansas City, Missouri and Norma and Bob Becker of Hamel; a brother-in-law, Butch Singler of Glen Carbon; special friend and sister-in-law, Donna Mueller of Maryville; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert “Bobby” Dean; a brother, Alvin Sconce and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary and Elmo Rosa and Carol Singler.
In celebration of her life, private services will be held at Irwin Chapel in Glen Carbon on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 with Reverend Andy Adams officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials may be made to the Troy United Methodist Church and may be accepted at the funeral home. www.irwinchapel.com
