Last year, Triad Middle School student Taylor Miller helped with a resource for students there called Crusader’s closet. This year when she moved on to the high school, she decided to create a similar program, Knights Closet.

Whereas Crusader Closet only offers clothes and shoes, Knights Closet will offer personal care items such as soap, body wash, feminine products, shampoo, brushes, deodorant, toothpaste, and toothbrushes and school supplies, such as backpacks, pens, pencils and more.

Miller says she hopes “in adding this closet to our school shows that the community as a whole cares and we care about providing students with supplies they may desperately need and not have access to”.

The closet is set to open around February 18, but is still in need of items. Miller has set up an Amazon wish list with all the products she is needing. The list can be found at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/genericItemsPage/TDUR8XGZGN8F?ref_=wl_share.

Miller said she cannot be more proud of her community based on the overwhelming number of donations she has already received.

The Closet will be located next to the guidance office and any student will be able to access the closet by contacting Ms. Thompson in the Guidance Office.
