Mary Jane Egan

Mary Jane Egan, nee, Linkey, age 88, of Troy, born on December 9, 1932 in East St. Louis, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Liberty Village, Maryville.

Mary was a bookkeeper at Fleming’s Maytag and Appliance in East St. Louis, and retired in 1970.  She was a member of TOPS, and the Holy Rosary Ladies Sodality.  Mary was an avid reader, a kind compassionate soul, devout in prayer, and had a positive impact with her fellow residents and staff at Liberty Village of Maryville, and all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Egan; her son Michael J. Egan, who died in 1989; her mother, Jane Bomba; and four sisters, Teresa Linkey, Marsha Juenger, Nikki Rash, and Patricia Biel.

Mary is survived by her children, Patricia J. (Dave) Hamilton of St. Charles, and Robert J. (Tricia) Egan of St. Louis; her grandson, Kyle Hamilton; her sister, Jean Cunningham of Troy, and was our dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City, or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, East St. Louis,.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City, with Fr. Harold Fisher officiating, O.M.I.  Interment will be held in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville.

Kassly Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
