David Birkhead

On Friday, February 5, 2021, David Dean Birkhead, loving husband and father, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 53 at his home in Estero, FL.

David was born on March 24, 1967 in St. Louis and graduated from Granite City High School in 1985. On June 17, 1989 he married Tammy Rene’e Meyer and they raised two sons.

A brilliant engineer, David helped create many of the fundamental aspects of the internet that we take for granted, while working with many well-known technical companies during his career.

David is survived by his wife, his children (Bryan (wife, Emily) and Brandon, his parents Harold and Evelyn Birkhead, his brother Jason (wife, Jessica), as well as many other relatives and friends.

Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate David’s life in their own way, raising a glass of their favorite drink in his memory would be quite appropriate.

A Celebration of Life event will be held in the spring at his home in Troy. Details to be determined at a later date.
