Melissa Huff

Melissa Marie Huff was called home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at her home in Collinsville, IL.

Melissa was born May 11, 1985 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Leigh Robert Burns, Jr. and Karen Burns, nee Becherer.

She is survived by her loving husband, Wesley A. Huff and their precious daughter, Brooklyn Huff; also surviving are a brother and his wife, Robert and Laura Burns of Ft. Myers, Fl., three sisters, Kimberly Burns of Troy, IL, Jennifer Burns of Phoenix, AZ and Sariah Burns of Chesnee, SC. She is also survived by her mother Karen Burns, of Troy, IL and a grandfather, Ernest Becherer of Troy, IL. Her father preceded her in death.

Melissa was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had the opportunity to teach the youth and young women groups. She discovered she had a gift for crocheting and would be found creating lovely items for family and friends. She was very musical and played the piano for church activities and special occasions.

Melissa, who also went by Missy, was one of the kindest and most considerate people anyone ever met. Always had a smile to greet everyone she met. Anyone was lucky to be able to call her friend. She had an altruism and a dedication about helping other people that seemed to never cease. She was the kind of person to put herself at odds with her own needs so that others would not have to go without. She also had a strength and endurance about her that seemed to never cease. She loved all that came and sustained all that stayed. The world is truly a lesser place without her. Her family hopes that her legacy of loving strangers and sustaining friends and family will endure on to help others achieve a happiness that only comes through that kind of selfless service. We love Missy and you will never be forgotten. Ever.

A visitation has been scheduled for April 1st from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, IL. The funeral will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Edwardsville, IL
