Roger Bowler Sr.

Roger J. Bowler Sr., 80 of Troy, born Monday, June 17, 1940 in Granite City, and passed away on April 2, 2021 in McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, TX.

Roger was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Granite City.  He retired as a Deputy Sheriff for Morgan and Miller Counties in MO.  Roger was a member of Sons of the American Revolution Christopher Casey Chapter in MO, Rocky Mount Lion’s Club and enjoyed piloting prop airplanes.

He was preceded in death by his children, Roger J. Bowler Jr., Robin L. Bowler and Gay Lyn Bowler; parents, Roger and Agnes (nee Heiles) Bowler; and his sister, Pamela Dickey.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra (nee Juda) Bowler whom he married February 6, 1960 and she lives in Troy; his grandson, Joseph B. (Elissa) Bowler; great-grandson, Roman Joseph Bowler; sister, Paula Burns; brothers, Paul (Barbara) Bowler and Ray “Sam” Bowler; and his nieces, Marlena Burns and Krishna Dickey.

Friends may call 2 to 3 pm on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Richeson Funeral Home, with Rev. Lisa Williams officiating, burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Glen Carbon.
