Kody C. Waters, 31, of Dewey, Oklahoma, a man with a rifle,  is dead. Illinois State Police are now trying to determine if he was killed by one of seven shots from a Troy police officer or if the fatal wound was self-inflicted.

According to a post on the Illinois State Police Investigations Facebook page, the Troy Police Department responded on Saturday, May 22 at approximately 7 p,m. to calls from  the TA Gas Station on Edwardsville Road about an active shooter on the parking lot. He was reportedly suicidal, the post said, and was actively discharging a firearm into the air. He was allegedly still firing after they arrived.

“In fear of his life and the life of other patrons,” the post said, “the officer fired seven shots in the direction of Waters.”

No officers or patrons were injured during the incident, according to the Illinois State Police.

Officers rendered aid to Waters but at approximately 9:10 p.m. he was pronounced dead at the scene, the page said.

An autopsy is scheduled for 11 a.m. today, Monday, May 24.

First of all it wasn’t a riffle secondly he was not firing any rounds in the air when the cop got there. He shot the gun in the air 5 times before the cop arrived on the scene. And the cops were called because he was suicidal. Get your facts straight before you post some bs lies
