Each year the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) develops a fiscally constrained si0yeear program that details how it will invest in the state and local highway system. The Fiscal Year 2022-2027 Proposed Highway Improvement Program (sometimes referred to as the Multi-Year Program, or MYP) totals $20.7 billion and includes a FY 2022 annual highway program of $3.32 billion.
Public involvement is an important component of all transportation system plans and programs. Every year, IDOT solicits feedback on the Multi-Year Program and considers these comments during development of the next six-year program cycle. The public is encouraged to participate in the planning and development of transportation across the state by sending the public comment form on page 19 of the FY 2022-2027 Proposed Highway Improvement Program available at https://idot.illinois.gov.about-idot/stay-connected/blog/rbi-year-two to Illinois Department of Transportation
