Levo Retires After 30 Years Practicing Law

Bonnie Levo is a woman we can all admire.  At the age of 47, she graduated with a law degree from SIU-Carbondale School of Law.  After working for many years as a legal secretary, she decided to pursue a law degree, all while balancing work and family.

In 1990, Bonnie clerked for Justice Joseph Cunningham of the Illinois Supreme Court before becoming a law partner with Richard Tognarelli in Collinsville.  Tognarelli was elected to be Circuit Court Judge in Madison County, and Bonnie moved her practice to Troy.  During her partnership with Tognarelli, Bonnie also served as a Madison County Assistant States Attorney, and continued to do so after opening her law office in Troy. Bonnie also served as Associate City Attorney for Troy until she was appointed and then elected to be an Alderman for the City of Troy until her term expired in 2021.

Angela Donohoo joined Bonnie’s practice as an Associate, and the two formed the Levo-Donohoo partnership in 2008, Their firm prospered for many years, until February of 2021, when Angela Donohoo was appointed to be an Associate Circuit Judge in Madison County, requiring her to leave the practice of law.  With 30 years of practicing law behind her, Bonnie decided it was time to retire.  Bonnie was  fortunate enough to be contacted by MillerKing LLC, an Alton, Illinois  law firm, that purchased the Levo-Donohoo law practice effective March 1, 2021. Bonnie states that she is pleased and excited to have “Of Counsel” status with MillerKing and looks forward to her association with such a dynamic law firm that is able to  offer the Troy community a broad array of legal services.

Alas! A time for introspection, and perhaps learning to boot.
