Ronnie Lee Courtney, a former resident of Troy passed away June 12, 2021 in New Palatine, Indiana where he resided. Ronald will be remembered for his passion to help people, his love for camping, and his fondness to pull a good prank or joke.
Ronald was born April 11, 1958 to the late James Spencer Courtney Sr. and Cleona Mae (Yates) Courtney. He attended Troy schools and graduated from Triad High School in 1975.
Ronald is survived by his loving daughter and bonus daughters, Jamie (Kenneth) Doolin of Eddyville, Robyn (Jimmy) Sprowls of Herren, Genie (Jason) Santiago of Shelbyville, IN., Alyssa (Jimmy) Reeves of Connersville, IN., Stephanie Melton of Carthage, IN., and Rhonda (Kyle) of New Castle, IN.; his Grandchildren, Hunter, Mallory, Sydney, Rance, Landen, Zathen, Jayden, Kylee, Aubrey, Eveyln, Addison and Daisy; Great Grandchildren, Karma, Chevy, Christopher, and Ivy Mae; Brothers, James Courtney Jr. of Desoto, MO.; George Courtney of MO., Allan Courtney of Troy, and two Sisters, Wanda Cawvey of Caseyville and Brenda Wilburn of Collinsville; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his Brothers, William Harold Courtney who passed away September 23, 2019; Thomas Courtney who passed away March 20, 2016; Sister, Virginia Ostrech who passed away February 13, 2021; Nephew, Kevin Brendel; and beloved Furbaby, Chloe Marie Courtney.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan Funeral Home in Indianapolis, IN.
