CHS Boys Golf Shoots Well at Tamarack and Arlington

The Collinsville boys golf team traveled to the Panther Invite at Tamarack Golf Course in Shiloh on September 17th and returned home with an 8th place finish out of 17 teams.

CHS shot a season-low 343 for the day. They finished only one shot behind Alton for 7th place.

O’Fallon won the team title with a 293.

Tyler Linton led the way for the Kahoks with an 82 while Jack Geisen fired an 84.

Eli Verning shot an 85 and Leighton Morris came in with a 92.

“I am very pleased with us being four strokes from the 330s as a team,” said coach Colin Moore. “It gives us something to build on for the regionals and conference tournament next week.”

CHS edged their SWC rival on September 14th at Arlington Greens.

Geisen led the way for CHS with a one-over 37.

Morris fired a 41, Linton a 43, and Verning a 44 for the afternoon.

We shot 165 and they shot 166.

Geisen led the way shooting a one over 37. Leigh ton Morris shot 41. Tyler Linton shot 43 and Eli Verning shot 44.

“The boys played well on our home course,” said Moore. “Hopefully we can take some of this positive momentum and surprise some teams at conference next week. (The) regional is on our home course and we should have a chance to advance some players.”

The IHSA regional tournament will be Wednesday, September 29th at Arlington.
