Daytime US 40 Ramp Closures Begin November 16
The Illinois Department of Transportation announces daily closures of the eastbound and westbound lanes of US 40 over Interstate 55/70 in Troy.
Work will begin on Tuesday, November 16, weather permitting, between 7 AM and 6 PM. The southbound I-55/70 exit ramp to eastbound US 40 will be closed to all traffic and westbound US 40 will be diverted to northbound I-55/70 during these daily closures.
These restrictions are needed to perform pavement repairs at the US 40 bridge over I-55/70. IDOT Day Labor and District 8 Operations crews will make the needed improvements. Full access will be restored nightly. All work will be completed by 6 PM Thursday, November 18.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
