Charles Row
Charles W. Row, age 79 of Troy, died Monday, January 10, 2022, at his home, in Troy. He was born on Friday, January 08, 1943, in Livingston, the son of Clifford and Emma (nee King) Row.
On Saturday, June 15, 1963, he married Karen Sue (nee Schmitt) Row at Troy, who passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2008.
Charles was born in Livingston; grew up in the Troy, area after 4th grade. He was a mechanic, worked for Morgan Linen in Troy. He was an Over-the-Road Truck Driver for 20 years, retiring from Beelman Trucking in 2008. Charles enjoyed working on old cars, a 1951 Ford and 1964 El Camino which he took to car shows. He also enjoyed riding his “Gold Wing’ Trike with his wife. He collected handmade wooden trucks and hanging out with family having everyone over for BBQ’s.
Survivors include: daughters Julie K. (Wayne) Loehring of Troy, Kathi L. Harris of Livingston, Wendy (Donald) Smith of Troy, Sheila R. Waggoner of Livingston; a son, Clifford L. “Chip” (Erin) Row of Collinsville; grandchidren Jason D. (Jennifer) Barker, George R. Barker III, Heather Sorbie, Dylan S. (Julie) Harris, Cody D. (Lydia) Harris, Christopher C. Ellis, Kayla M. Haller, Brady T. Waggoner, Jadyn N. Row, Ian C. Row, and Carson J. Row; great grandchildren Katie L. Barker, Kaden C. Barker, Karly L. Barker, Madelyn E. Cooper, Riley E. Harris, Reagan E. Harris, Hadley L. Harris, Haley N. Harris, Addison J. Curley, Margaret A. Harris, Grayson A. Ellis, Maverick C. Ellis, and Elias A. McCaleb; a sister, Darlene (Chuck) Lewis of Troy; two brother-in-laws, Robert L. Schmitt of Saint Jacob, and Gerald Schmitt of Highland; and many Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Charles Row and Emma I. (nee King) Row; his wife, Karen Sue (nee Schmitt) Row, two brothers, Billie Row and Marvin “Shorty” Row; a sister Ramona F. Prante; a brother-in-law, Richard D. Schmitt; a grandchild, Larry “Bud” Allen Ellis, and a Great Grandchild, Kolten Cade Barker (born sleeping).
Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland.
Visitation was held Friday, January 14, 2022, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland followed immediately by the Memorial Service with Pastor Ron Habemehl officiated.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Pastor Ron Habermehl, officiating.
Interment will be at Friedens United Church of Christ Cemetery in Troy.
