Shirley Matthews

Shirley A. Matthews, age 90, of Troy, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022, at her residence. She was born on December 3, 1931, in Troy, the daughter of the late Fred & Elberta (Strong) Droy. Shirley worked for her father at Droy Ford in Troy for many years. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Matthews whom she married on October 25, 1959, at the Troy Presbyterian Church. Shirley is also survived by her daughter, Sheila L. Mikes of Edwardsville; two granddaughters, Jenny Ziegler, Tara Lohmeier & husband Mike; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Droy.

A private graveside service will be held at Friedens Cemetery in Troy, at a later date. The family request memorials to Vitas Hospice in care of Weber & Rodney Funeral Home at 304 N. Main Street, Edwardsville, IL 62025. Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
