Frances Hosto

Frances Luella Eleonora Hacker Hosto, nee Buhlig, 96, of Columbia, Illinois, born November 2, 1925, in Malta Bend, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Reflections in Columbia, Illinois.

 She will always be remembered for being, “fat, sassy and old”. Apologies to anyone she owes a “hot fudge sundae”.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Karl Hacker; her second husband, Harold Herman Henry Hosto; her parents, Frederick Bruno Theodore and Pauline Marie, nee Vogel, Buhlig; her siblings, Claudine Marie Luella Buhlig, Lawrence Julius Edward Buhlig, Bertha Clara (Oscar) Stiek, Harlan Frederick Oswald (Anita Marie) Buhlig, Anna Marie Buhlig, Esther Lou Agnes (Buddy) Wiedey, Darlene Anna (John Melvin) Davis, and Ellenor Kathleen (Billy) Boehmer.

Surviving are her children, Dennis Vernon (Jennifer) Hacker of Palm Springs, CA, Patricia Frances (Carolyn) Hacker of Polk City, FL, Paulette Louise (Robert) St. Germain of Haines City, FL, Steven Dale (Maryia) Hacker of Newark, Delaware, and Annmarie Lynn (Matthew) Ihrig of Manchester, MO; five grandchildren, Frederick (Candace) St. Germain, Kathleen (Eric) Jahnsen, Heather (Chadd Hackl) Ihrig, Stephanie (Chris Chambers) Ihrig-Chambers, and Patty (Collin) Bueckendorf; eight great grandchildren, Maddison Hackl, Aubrey Jahnsen, Riley Hackl, Zachary Jahnsen, and Shane, Carly, Lydia, and Grant Chambers; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois,  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
