E. Jean Schultze, 95, of Troy, was born February 26, 1927 in Litchfield, and passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Vonderleith Living Center in Mt. Polaski.
Jean was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was active in Pleasant Hour Club, Helping hands and the Parent teacher League. She and Vernon owned and operated Schultze’s Standard Oil Co. in Troy for many years. Before working full time with their business, she painted prints for Rissi’s Studio in Collinsville. She enjoyed bowling, card club, and the fellowship they brought. Her family was important to her and she enjoyed all the time she spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Schultze whom she married August 1, 1948 in Litchfield, and he passed away on October 3, 1997; her son-in-law, Joe Busekrus; parents, Dietrich and Frances (nee Schoen) Westhoff; her brothers, Les, Harold and George Westhoff; sisters Helen Gartner, Lucille Uthoff, Elda Weller, Alice Schwab.
She had a way of turning every memory of her early life in Litchfield into a beautiful story and loved talking about it with her daughters. Her family was her life and she loved them with all her heart.
Surviving are her daughters, Fran Busekrus of Collinsville, Il and Chris (Scott) Anderson of Rochester; granddaughter, Jackie (Keith) Jackson; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held 10 to 12 noon on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on April 14, 2022 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Albert Collver officiating. Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Troy.
