E-Cycle Event Set for Saturday in Troy

By Randy Pierce

Numerous types of items are being accepted this Saturday, June 11, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at United Methodist Church, 407 Edwardsville Road, in Troy as part of what is called an “e-cycle” event designed to encourage local residents to dispose of unneeded things in a responsible manner as part of their spring clean-up efforts.

Sponsored by the Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce, the items being collected at this e-cycle event include papers that needed to be shredded, outdated, unused, old prescription medications, eyeglasses and hearing aids plus various electronics items and metals.

For a complete list of what is being accepted and not accepted, visit the web site www.troymaryville.com then under “chamber member & community events” on the left side of the page, click on “E-Cycle” which will lead you to a page that has a line at the bottom left to click on for the list. It is important to note that not all items at the CJD e-cycle site will be accepted at Saturday’s event so for further information about this or in general, call the chamber office at 618-667-8769.

There is no charge for dropping off items with the except of a slight fee for televisions and computer monitors. Support for this event is provided by the Troy Tourism Funding Program.
