Kathy V. Rickert, 72, of Troy, IL, born Saturday, February 18, 1950 in East St. Louis, IL and passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Louis, MO. 

Kathy was a loving Mom, grandma and great-grandma.  She enjoyed riding motorcycles with Dave, camping and any time she could travel and see new sights.  She loved her dog Hershey and grand-dog Agnes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David F. Rickert, whom she married December 12, 1992 and he passed away September 26, 2015; her parents, Herman and Dorothy (nee Wilkinson) Bugger; her brothers, Pete, Chuck and Butch Bugger; sisters, Nancy Schiefer and Diana Messina.

Surviving are her children, Michael (Jan) Koonce of London, KY, Dot (Mike) Washburn of Greenville, IL and Nancy (Bryce Cooley) Koonce of Sandoval, IL; step-son David Rickert Jr. of San Francisco, CA; step-daughters, Candi Rickert of Maryville, IL and Wendi Rickert of Collinsville, IL; grandchildren, Zachary (Lauren) Heilig, Charles Fiscus, Tabatha DeBlois, Brandon (Taiylor) Washburn, Gauge (Josie) Garmon and Kaitlyn Washburn; and her great-grandchildren, Rylin and Kimber DeBlois, Wyatt, Eli, Corbin and Cash Garmon, Rhett and Leighton Washburn and Annabelle Heilig; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held 10 am to 12 noon on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL.

Celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Richeson Funeral Home, Troy, IL.  Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
