Collinsville VFW Hosts Forum Oct. 30

Collinsville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5691, located at 1234 Vandalia Street, is hosting a special commanders’ forum 12:30 to 3 p.m. Oct. 30 for the purpose of addressing ideas concerning the future of such organizations.

According to an announcement by Alonzo “Skip” Skipper, commander of Collinsville Kahokian Memorial Post 5691, this forum is for all commanders at the local post, district and Department of Illinois levels with the goal being to share positive thoughts about what has worked and what has not worked for individual posts. 

The specific topics to be discussed include member recruitment, reinstatement of members who have left the organization, post inspections and sustaining membership. After one of those topics is presented, anyone attending the forum will be encouraged to provide input.

Food and drinks will be provided. Those planning to participate should RSVP by calling, leaving a voice mail or texting Skipper at 618-910-7936 or by calling the Collinsville post at 618-344-7195.
