Regular season play has officially come to a close for Triad volleyball. But even in their last game pre-postseason, there was still plenty on the line.

The Lady Knights regular season finale was held on Oct. 18 as the team visited Mississippi Valley Conference foe Jersey. The Panthers entered the night with a 9-16 record.

In the opening set, the Lady Knights went to work and leapt out to an 11-4 lead. This advantage later swelled to 19-9 before Triad took the set 25-15.

The visitors started strong in set two, jumping ahead 11-4. A 5-12 run from the Panthers quickly swung the momentum away. Jersey later led 23-19 and forced a third set with a 25-23 margin.

A commanding start from Anya Duff serving gave the Lady Knights an 8-0 start. The Panthers closed the gap at 11-7, but it was all Triad from then on out to win 25-12.

With the win, the Lady Knights improved to 13-22 on the season. They also tied Civic Memorial for fourth place in the conference standing, ensuring no Triad fall team would finish in the bottom third of the MVC.

Postseason play will begin on Oct. 25, as Triad battles rival Highland. This Regional semi-final match will be hosted by Civic Memorial.
