Kahok Icemen beat Eagles in opener

Collinsville blew open a close contest after two periods with four goals in the 3rd period to beat Bethalto and win their season opener 5-1 at the East Alton Ice Arena on Nov. 1.

Tanner Bettis and Benjamin Klein scored two goals apiece to lead the local squad. Eric Denny added the other Kahok goal.

Glennon Bennett had two assists while David Bennett had one for the Kahoks. Bettis and Kyle Lee each picked up an assist.

The Kahoks peppered Bethalto goalie Ryan Tolbert with 53 shots on goal during the contest.

Collinsville goalie Landen Roedl turned away 16 of the 17 shots he faced. 

Upcoming Schedule

The Kahoks squared off with Edwardsville Monday in Granite City however results were unavailable at press time. Tonight they face Alton at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex in O’Fallon.
