Alice “Nan” (nee Stephenson) Stogsdill, 88, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022, receiving an 80-year-old promise, when she took the hand of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and stepped into heaven to share eternal life with those who preceded her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Stogsdill; parents, Edwards and Kate (nee Pennick) Stephenson; and an unending number of family and friends who all greeted her with open arms.
Nan is survived by her three sons, Ed (Diana) Stogsdill of Collinsville, IL, Robert “Bob” (Janet) Stogsdill of Webster, TX, and Steven “Steve” (Mendy) Stogsdill of Abilene, TX; seven grandchildren, Kristin (Corby) Carlson, Kasey (Brett) Carlson, Eric (Susie) Stogsdill, Sarah (Steven) Mills, Lucas Stogsdill, Emily Stogsdill and Alex Stogsdill; nine great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Ann (Jack) Turner of Springfield, MO and sister, Ava Nelle Sanburg of Panama City, FL.
Nan was a preacher’s kid, ironworker’s wife, school teacher and mother of three sons. She was full of love and a bright hope with a streak of stubbornness that she shared with nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her church family. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
