It was an up and down week for the Collinsville boys bowling team as they competed four times.
The Kahoks crossed the Mississippi to take part in the ShoMo Classic at Concord Lanes in St. Louis. Several teams in Illinois are trying to grow the sport of high school bowling into Missouri and this is a showcase event to help that cause.
Collinsville ended up taking 3rd place at the event which includes tournament play in the morning that leads to match play in the afternoon.
Salem brought home the championship as they continue to have an outstanding season.
For the Kahoks, Brandon Campbell finished in 5th place individually.
He rolled a 659 series in the morning and a 1332 six-game set on the day.
Campbell went 206, 205, 248 in the morning and 255, 214, 204 in the afternoon.
Ben Sloan and Cole Buckman were just behind in 7th and 8th place respectively.
Sloan had a 1319 series with four games above 200. His high game was 257 followed by 256, 222, and 214.
Buckman had five games above 200 with a high of 257 and additional games of 222, 211, 206, and 205.
Mason Foley had games of 223, 216, and 211 while Jacob Taylor had games of 216, 213, and 201.
Belleville East dual
The boys fell to Belleville East at Camelot on Dec. 14.
Campbell had the best day for the Kahoks as he rolled a 617 series including 227 and 204 games.
Sloan had a high of 221, Conner Hartman had a 213, and Foley picked up a 204 game.
SWC Tourney finals
Day three of the SWC tourney was held at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights and the Kahoks did well.
Campbell again led the way with a 683 series and had a high game of 257 to go along with marks of 221 and 205.
Buckman was right behind with a 668 series. His high game was 275 with a 255 also on his scorecard.
Foley rolled a 659 set including games of 267 and 242.
Sloan had a high game of 212, Taylor had 202, and Jace Coats had 202 for his high game.
The following day the tourney moved to Bel-Air Bowl in Belleville and Mason Foley came up big.
On his second game of the day he fired a 299 game which was right on the heels of his 220 on his first game of the day. He finished with a 679 series.
Buckman had games of 252 and 200 while Taylor finished with marks of 225 and 212.
Campbell rolled a 231 for his high game and also fired a 202.
The Kahoks finished in 3rd place at the conference tourney.
Southern Illinois Challenge
The results from the Southern Illinois Challenge were not available at press time for the boys. However, Collinsville did well as they placed third overall behind Belleville East and Mascoutah.
Campbell garnered a 6th place finish at the Dec. 10 tourney at Bel-Air Bowl in Belleville. He rolled a 602 series in the morning and a 687 in the afternoon with a high game of 265.
Foley came in 13th place with a 682 series and a 576 mark as well.
Thursday the boys travel to the Alton Holiday Tourney and then travel to the Mid-States Invitational in Peoria on Dec. 28.
