Triad High School girls bowling opened their season on Nov. 26 hosting the Triad Girls Invitational at Hi-Top Bowl in Highland.
Triad finished 10th of the 16 teams and 2nd in the silver division. Triad’s Varsity had some solid games with Ava Burrelsman 166, Haylee Harper 180, Kaylee Broadfield 187, Brylee Proffitt 231 and Clara Doubet 128. Brylee Proffitt won the tournament with a 1260 series for 6 games, averaging 210 for the day and Haylee Harper finishing 17th with a 1012 series.
Matchplay on Nov. 29 vs. Civic Memorial at Airport Bowl had Triad winning 2358 team series to Civic Memorial’s 1480 team series.
At the Abe Lincoln Invitational on Dec. 3 at King Pin Lanes in Springfield, Ill, the Lady Knights finished 9th out of 20 teams with the girls rolling the following high games: Riley Reeves 146, Clara Doubet 138, Haylee Harper 213, Ava Burrelsman 152 and Brylee Proffitt 255. The girls were also competing individually against 100 girls. Brylee Proffitt was the individual tournament winner with a series of 1213 for 6 games, averaging 202 for the day and Haylee Harper finishing 23rd with a total pin fall of 934.
Matchplay Dec. 6-8 had the Lady Knights going up against Waterloo at Hi-Top Bowl ending in a tie 20-20. Mascoutah at Mascoutah Community Lanes was a loss, but brought a strong series by Ava Burrelsman 468, and a high game of 202 for Kaylee Broadfield. The Lady Knights hosted Belleville West at Hi-Top Bowl for a win with Haylee Harper as the highest finisher of the day with a 537 series and a 211 game.
The Southern Illinois Team Challenge was hosted Dec. 10 by Belleville East at Bel Air Bowl in Belleville. The Lady Knights were unable to compete in the tournament with a full team, however, despite the circumstances the girls brought their spirit and bowled well.
Kaylee Broadfield had a high game of 205 and a 495 three game series, Haylee Harper had a high game of 178 and a 455 three game series. Ru Fuller and Emelia McLeod each lent a hand with high games of 126 for Ru and 114 for Emelia. Brylee Proffitt had a high game of 223 and a total 6 game series of 1204 landing her a 3rd place finish.
Matchplay Dec. 13 vs. Jerseyville was a win for our Lady Knights with Ava Burrelsman having a strong day with a series of 429 and Ru Fuller 394.
The ShowMO tournament held at Concord Lanes on Dec. 17 brought the girls to a 2nd place team finish and individual medals in the Silver Division. Brylee Proffitt finished 1st with a total pin fall of 1124 for 6 games and Haylee Harper with a 5th place high series finish rolling a series of 1049 for 6 games. Kaylee Broadfield and Clara Doubet each brought home hardware for their high games. Kaylee had the 3rd high game with 194 and Clara had the 4th high game with a 181.
The Lady Knights return to the lanes after the Christmas holiday with several more tournaments on their schedule as well as matchplay.
