It has been a bit of a struggle for the Collinsville boys bowling team this season, but the Kahoks put together a solid fourth place performance at the IHSA Salem Regional Saturday to advance to their own sectional this weekend.
Salem won the regional crown with a pinfall total of 6639 ahead of Mascoutah’s 6442. O’Fallon placed third with a total of 6295 while the Kahoks shot 6130.
For Collinsville, Brandon Campbell placed fourth in the individual tournament 60 pins out of first place with a 1388 total.
Campbell had a high game of 278 on his sixth game of the day but rolled better than 200 each game of the day including 255 and 236 games.
“He looked great,” said Hay. “He was hitting things well.”
Charlie Hunter of Salem rolled 1448 to win the individual regional title.
Mason Foley took 11th place with a total of 1274. His highest game was also on his final one of the day with a 246 while Ben Sloan took the 14th spot at 1234. His high game was 235.
Cole Buckman took 24th place and Jacob Taylor finished 33rd.

Collinsville picked up a big win over the Tigers on Jan. 6 at Camelot Bowl.
The Kahoks were led by Sloan’s 673 series. He had a high game of 257.
Campbell shot a 654 and Buckman rolled a 617. Campbell had a 268 high game of the day.
Collinsville beat O’Fallon last week as well. They began the match with a 1204 team series in the opening set and ended up winning the match by 12 pins.
Sloan had a 672 series on the day.
The boys compete in the Collinsville Sectional Saturday.
