Ross, Kneedler get new chairmanships
By Randy Pierce
Madison County Board members Bobby Ross of St. Jacob and Ryan Kneedler of Collinsville have new committee chairmanship assignments as a result of the death of board member William Meyer of Hamel.
Ross has been appointed to chair the county board’s transportation committee, a position held by Meyer prior to his passing. Since that movement of Ross from his chairmanship role for the central services committee, that slot is being filled by Kneedler.
These reassignments were announced by Kurt Prenzler, chairman of the Madison County Board, at its regular monthly meeting held on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Meyer, who had been participating in the county board meetings remotely for several months due to health restrictions, passed away on Jan. 5 at the age of 75. He had served on the board from 2000 to 2016 then again from 2020 until his death.
Prenzler read a statement of tribute to Meyer at last week’s county board meeting then everyone present joined him in a moment of silence in memory of the deceased public servant.
